Spring Floral Headband – Free Pattern

-Worsted weight yarn
-4mm G crochet hook
-Tapestry needle
**Pattern can be adapted to any size hook and yarn.

Pattern Key
– Ch: Chain
– Mr: Magic ring
– Sl st: Slip stitch
– Sc: Single crochet
– Hdc: Half double crochet
– Dc: Double crochet
– Long Sc: Long single crochet
– F/O: Finish off
– [ ] Denotes instructions in the pattern.

Flower Center:

Hdc 6 in a Mr, join.

Rnd 1: *Ch 2, Sl st in next St*, repeat from * to * around, creating 6 loops. F/O on final St.

F/O, leaving a tail for attaching finished flower to band.

Petals:

[With new color join into one loop.]

Rnd 1: Ch 1, [Sc, Hdc, Hdc, Dc, Hdc, Hdc, Sc] in each loop, Join in first loop. F/O

[Join new color in the Dc in the top of one of your petals]

Rnd 2: Ch1, *Sc in Dc and next three Sts, Long Sc into the Flower Center St between your Sc(s),  Sc in next three Sts*, repeat from * to * around.

F/O, sewing in ends.

Band:

[Work in multiples of  12 + 2. Remember to add a little extra length to account for the chevrons]

Ch 62 (or to desired length using the multiple above)

Row 1: Sc 2 in second Ch from hook, *Sc in next five Sts, Sk 1, Sc in next 5 Sts, 3 Sc in next St*, repeat from * to * to the end of the Ch. Sc 2 in last St.  Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2: Sc 2 in first St, *Sc in next five Sts, Sk 2, Sc in next 5 Sts, 3 Sc in next St*, repeat from * to * to the end of the row. Sc 2 in last St.

F/O, leaving a tail to sew ends of band together.

Finishing Notes: Fold band in half long ways and sew ends together. Sew on flower to whichever side you like and sew in ends.

Pirate Eye Patch – Free Pattern

Argh, Matey! This pattern is inspired by my daughter’s love for everything pirate. It is simple to follow, works up quickly and makes the perfect accessory for your little pirate or pirate lass.mate

Onward to the crochet booty!

Materials
• Worsted weight yarn
• 4mm G crochet hook
• Tapestry needle

Pattern Key
• Ch: Chain
• Sl st- slip stitch
• Sc- Single Crochet
• Hdc- Half Double Crochet
• Hdc2tog – Half Double Crochet 2 Together

Experience Levelmate1
• Beginner

Eye Patch:

Ch 12.

Row 1: Hdc in third chain from hook, Hdc in each chain across. Ch 2 and turn. (10 st)

Row 2: Hdc in first st and each across. Ch 2 and turn. (10 st)

Row 3: Hdc2tog, Hdc in next six stitches, Hdc2tog, Ch 2 and turn. (8 st)

Row 4: Hdc2tog, Hdc in next four stitches, Hdc2tog, Ch 2 and turn. (6 st)

Row 5: Hdc2tog, Hdc in next two stitches, Hdc2tog. (4st)

From last Hdc2tog, ch 1 and Sc around all edges for a finished look. (Make sure you get your beginning tail, as you go, to save having to weave it in later.) SL ST in ch1 to finish off. Trim tail and sew in ends.

Sl st in top corners and chain to desired length to create your tie backs. Trim tail and sew in ends to finish.

Applique with felt if so desired.
