With Christmas right around the corner, I know I’m not the only one still rushing to put finishing touches on gifts and decor for the holidays. While working on polishing off some gifts for friends, I took a moment to put together the pattern for this quick and easy crochet stocking for you lovelies. - Bulky (5) weight yarn
- I used 1 full skein and a few yards of a second in Loops and Threads Charisma (109yd/100m each)
- 9mm M/13 crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Gauge is not important for this project.
- Depending on gauge your finished piece will measure roughly: 14” x 6.5”
- Mr: Magic ring
- Rnd: Round
- Ch: Chain
- Sc: Single crochet
- Hdc: Half double crochet
- St(s): Stitch(es)
- Sl st: Slip stitch
- F/O: Finish off
- Dec: Half double crochet 2 Sts together
- BLO: Back Loop Only
- () denotes St count
Patten Notes: Chains do not count as stitches throughout the pattern.  denotes any further instructions within the pattern.
Rnd 1: Hdc 10 in a Mr, Sl st into the first Hdc to join
Rnd 2: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc 2 in each St around, Sl st into the first Hdc to join (20)
Rnd 3: Ch 1 and turn,*Hdc into the next St, Hdc 2 in the next St*, repeat from * to * around, Sl st into the first Hdc to join (30)
Rnd 4: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc 2 in the same St as join, Skip 1 St, *Hdc 2 in next St, Skip 1 St*, repeat from * to * to end, Sl st in first Hdc to join (30)
Rnd 5-14: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc 2 into each Skip space around, Sl st in first Hdc to join (30)[F/O after Rnd 14 and sew in ends.]
Row 1: Sl st into any Hdc, Ch1 and Hdc into the same St, Hdc into the next 13 Sts (14)
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc into the first 5 Sts, Dec over the next 4 Sts, Hdc into the next 5 Sts (12)
Row 3: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc into the first 4 Sts, Dec over the next 4 Sts, Hdc into the next 4 Sts (10)
Row 4: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc into the first 3 Sts, Dec over the next 4 Sts, Hdc into the next 3 Sts (8)[Sl st into the first Hdc and F/O, leaving a long tail for sewing your heel closed. Turn your stocking inside out, and sew the gap closed. Sew in ends and turn your work back right side out.]
Top Half:[For Rnd 1, you’ll need to Hdc 2 into the 10 Skip spaces of the last Rnd of your Lower Half, then evenly Hdc 2 in the same loops of the edge 5 times along the heel to complete the Rnd. It doesn’t matter which Skip space you begin in as long as you end up for 15 x Hdc 2 and 15 x Skip spaces]
Rnd 1: Join into any Skip space, Ch 1, Hdc 2 into the same St as join, Skip 1 St, * Hdc 2 into the next St, Skip 1 St*, repeating from * to * around. (30)
Rnd 2-14: Ch 1 and turn, Hdc 2 into each Skip space around, Sl st in first Hdc to join (30)
Finishing Notes and Border:
DO NOT F/O after Rnd 14
Rnd 1: Ch 1and DO NOT TURN, Sc around your entire Stocking, Sl st to join in first Sc (30)
Rnd 2-3: Ch 1 and DO NOT TURN, Sc in the BLO in each St around, Sl st to join in first Sc (30)
[Lay stocking flat and find the back most St.]
Sl st to join into the back St, Ch 8, Sl st into the same St to join[F/O and sew in ends.]
